Hi there!
My name is Elizabeth Unthank, and I am a Marriage and Family Therapist Trainee pursuing my master’s degree in clinical psychology from Pepperdine University.
I am a therapist trainee who takes a client-centered, empathetic, and collaborative approach to therapy. My goal is to create a safe, nonjudgmental space where clients feel seen, heard, and empowered to explore their experiences at their own pace. I especially enjoy working with children, adolescents, and their families, and I believe in honoring each client's unique story through strengths-based and narrative approaches. Cultural sensitivity is central to my work. I strive to respect and understand the diverse identities, backgrounds, and belief systems of the individuals I support. My approach is grounded in compassion and a genuine belief in each person's capacity for growth and healing.
I have a strong interest in incorporating animal-assisted therapy in my future work and dream of starting a nonprofit that combines mental health services with the healing power of animals.
Thank you for considering me to be a part of your therapeutic journey. I look forward to meeting you!
