Evalin Sosa, Trainee
Supervised by Ashley, Barnes-Brown LMFT, 127661

I am a Marriage and Family Therapy trainee earning my master’s degree in Clinical Counseling at the University of San Francisco, under the supervision of Ashley Barnes-Brown, LMFT. My approach blends strength-based and person-centered perspectives with evidence-based practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused CBT (TF-CBT), and Narrative Therapy. Before beginning my counseling career, I spent over seven years in Human Resources, specializing in managing interpersonal workplace conflicts, guiding teams through change, and teaching effective communication; skills I now integrate into my work with clients.

I have a deep passion for supporting people through life’s many seasons. Whether it’s navigating career shifts, co-parenting challenges, parenting stress, academic or workplace difficulties, adjusting to big life changes, or healing from trauma. I enjoy working with youth, first-generation immigrants, adults, couples, parents, and college students, and I welcome clients from all walks of life. Every person’s story is unique, and I believe in meeting clients exactly where they are, whether they’re seeking tools for growth, navigating a transition, or working through complex emotions.

My goal is to create a safe, supportive space where clients feel seen, understood, and empowered to build on their strengths. I believe that healing often happens through small, meaningful steps and I am honored to walk alongside clients as they take them. Thank you for considering me as a part of your healing journey.
