Hello! My name is Matthew Foran, and I am a Marriage and Family Therapist Trainee at Horizon Family and Community Services. I am currently pursuing my Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology at the University of San Francisco.
I am passionate about helping individuals, couples, teens, and children work through life’s challenges and move toward growth, healing, and resilience through all of life’s stressors.
I work from a humanistic perspective, with client-centered and existential approaches, meaning I emphasize empathy, acceptance, and the agency we possess to control our lives.
I aim to alleviate suffering of anxiety, depression, and stress in forms of relationship conflicts, family conflicts, and exploring identity. To do this, I will use evidence-based practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness Based interventions, and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT). Through my non-judgemental approach, my ultimate goal is to make you feel safe, heard, and valued in our client-counselor relationship.
I receive weekly clinical supervision from Susan Harrison, LMFT #93612, to ensure ethical and effective care. Thank you for considering working with me, I would be honored to support you on your journey toward healing, growth, and self-discovery.
